Leicester Tarpaulin Snatcher Strikes Again

On the morning of Friday 24th May 2019 Mr & Mrs Walton awoke to find that their beloved 3 year old green, brass eyed tarpaulin was nowhere to be found. Playing back their CCTV they found to their distress that they had captured what is believed to be the first ever image of the crazed tarpnapper sometimes known as the "Leicester Tarpaulin Beast" as he dragged their much loved tarpaulin into nearby bushes.

Although grainy and blurred it is perhaps the first solid clue to the identity of the maniac believed to have been responsible for countless tarpnappings over the past decade.

SInce that day in May at least 2 dozen more tarpaulins are reported to have disappeared in suspicious circumstances.

Mr & Mrs Walton have offered a substantial reward if the beast is apprehended and shot although Leicestershire Police have cautioned the public against shooting the monster as it might be regarded as an offence.

What we know about the LTB

(Leicester Tarpaulin Beast)

Warning: Graphic content that readers might find disturbing.

  • The LTB often taunts victims by leaving a "you will never see your Tarpaulin again" message.
  • It is believed the LTB may stalk some tarpaulins for weeks or even months before striking.
  • The LTB seems to prefer clear plastic tarpaulins.
  • On the rare occasion tarpaulins are found they invariably need extensive chemical cleaning.
  • Bite marks are frequently found at the corners.
  • On one occasion handcuffs and a pink feather boa were found with a missing tarpaulin while on another a rubber hose, axle grease, four used AA batteries, a manually operated rotary egg whisk and a string vest brought an investigation to a complete halt because nobody on the investigative team wanted to find out what had taken place.
